Job Title: Freelance Quantitative Market Researcher Support Associate

Job Summary:

  • Maddock Douglas (MD) is seeking a freelance market researcher to support our SVP of Research on two quantitative research projects starting immediately and going through April 17th. The ideal candidate will have at least 4-7 of experience writing surveys, analyzing data and creating PowerPoint presentations to convey findings. They will have strong analytical skills and exceptional storytelling abilities in order to create thoughtful presentations that visualize data in compelling ways. Experience at a professional services consulting firm or creative agency is required. Flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in the country. Assuming quality performance, there would be opportunity for the candidate to be go-to resource for future quantitative research projects (and qualitative, depending on relevant experience).
  • Candidates should submit examples of quantitative questionnaire(s) and research presentation(s) they’ve created in the past, removing confidential client information as needed.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work with oversight from SVP of Research on up to two online quantitative studies: 
  1. Positioning Test: Assess 3-4 sets of positioning language quantitatively to get feedback on whether the intent of the overall positioning direction resonates
    1. Includes evaluation for how each of the four positioning statements tested scored on attributes such as “fills a need”, “believability”, “ease of understanding” and “impact on purchase interest”
  2. Insight Test:  Assess 12 insight platform components among the target segment identified to prioritize them in terms of consumer need:
    1. Test and analyze data among 450 consumers broken down as follows -- 150 Hispanic target segment, 150 general market target segment and 150 representative US primary grocery shopper
  • For each study, the candidate would perform the following tasks:
    • Develop and revise screener and quantitative survey for each study
    • Allow for approximately 2-4 rounds for edits/input from internal team and client
    • Oversee/approve final programming of screener/surveys
    • Provide direction to panel partner and test survey link as needed
    • Oversee fieldwork completion
    • Monitor quality control and final sample distributions
    • Coordinate with data processor to oversee final data cleaning, sample balance/data weighting and to create all data tables/banners
    • Perform data analysis and develop 40-80 page detailed report of findings plus a 4-5 page executive summary
