Maddock Douglas (MD) is seeking a full time innovation practitioner to contribute to enabling our clients to grow, stake new ground and stay relevant into the future. Ideal candidates are highly strategic, comfortable dealing with ambiguity and have experience developing positioning recommendations, guiding market research analysis and defining brand elements and tone. Candidates would need to work out of our Chicago-area office with flexibility to work from home once a week and be available to travel to various client locations for key meetings and workshops. Professional services consulting firm or creative agency experience is required. Position pays up to $80,000-$90,000 depending on level of experience.
Strategically lead client projects and give guidance to work teams across the organization in order to develop deliverables that meet client’s needs. Example projects/efforts include:
Attend key client meetings and be strategic client contact, leading the conversation and providing recommendations
Gather a wide variety of inputs (e.g., client-provided documents, secondary research, client, expert or customer interviews) and analyze them in order to uncover patterns and synthesize findings into well-structured, visually-driven presentations
Develop PowerPoint presentations that tell a succinct and powerful story and properly set up all work and recommendations delivered
Drive development of a strategic position a client can occupy now and in the future based on an understanding of their business/strengths, customer/prospect needs, the competitive landscape and the future of that industry
Help plan/design and facilitate co-creation workshops in order to help align clients, participate as a table lead in those workshops, providing guidance and oversight and contributing to generation of content/ideas
Identify the appropriate approaches to meet challenges, then define the process and scope accordingly (this includes doing so in support of business development efforts)
Manage P&L to deliver against target metrics in collaboration with Business Unit Leader and Project Manager
Identify when additional resources are needed on projects assigned to and provide strategic direction to work teams, including across other business units and external partners/contractors
